He was a very ambitious, hard working, a never give up type of guy. From what Louis Nohl said, Haydn started singing by age six and he was part of church choir. With all the fame and greatness, he would still achieve success coming from a poor family living in a peasant cottage. What really grabbed my attention was how Haydn loved practicing music and though with his many struggles Haydn always kept positive and a strong attitude. He would go against his family’s wishes along with starving himself throughout his youth to be part of music. Haydn taught me that do what you love to do and†¦show more content†¦His neatness and orderliness helped him get the most out of different types of music. With symphonies, he realized that instrumentals were more stronger and intellectual, as for serenades it was more suited for slow and sensuous instrumentals. Haydn was the first to invent inborn, free expressive, natural art to music and this is what Beethoven admired about him. You can hear in his music the emotions, characteristics, and expressions involved in almost all of them. Sadness, happiness, anger, humor, is some of the examples he puts up when he makes music. (Nohl 79) Haydn executed works of art by expressing his ideas, thoughts, and feelings. This was particularly rare in that time; which was shortly after the Baroque era and the famous Bach along with other composers of the time mainly making church music. This attributed to his fame and success along with his constant love and perseverance throughout life. For this element of music he created, it aroused many including Beethoven and Mozart. An example of his love and perseverance is when the musicians and singers sabotaged Haydn’s Italian operas in 1776 when he composed for the king’s court. Nevertheless, he still performed his works back at the house of the prince but not much because the prince’s house became on fire. After it took fire, Haydn already had copies made back in his house. The narrator of the story liked one of his classmates but was afraid to show that he liked her. He didnt have the maturity at the beginning of the story to go against peer pressure. Peer pressure was involved with Evangeline being shunned because she was poor. Her faded blue dress set her apart from the rest of the students. SHe only had two dresses. The narrator stated, she had changed from the dark heavy dress to the dull blue of the last fall (370). The narrartor described her house as gray and lopsided (374). Her house had no running water. There was a grayish white place on the ground where the dishwater had been thrown out (374). Probably none of the students were wealthy in the story, but Evangeline was poorer than most of the Students. Peer pressue dictated that Evangeline should be avoided. She was avoided by the others because she was different. She was standing near the corner looking everywhere but at the crowd (369). The narrator himself said, I might talk to her, I thought. But of course it was out of the question (371). The author didnt talk to her at school but he would at the tree. The next day at school I didnt ask whether her father wanted to take the paper(370). He was afraid to be seen with her. The narrator asked himself, could anyone in the house have been watching. I looked back once(370). Peer pressure prevented the narrator from socializing with Evangeline at school. Sometimes peer pressue involves people making fun of each other. Although the narrator never made fun of Evaneline, other people did. She was made fun of with such comments as, Why look at Evangeline- that old dress has a new belt. Stop a minute Evangelin, let me see you new dress. It is cute dear (372). The narrator never came to the defense of Evangeline when those remarks were being made. Due to peer pressure and lack of maturity, the narrator in The Osage Orange Tree missed an opportunity of permanently befriending Evangeline. Evangeline was poor, avoided, and made fun of. It is not until the conclusion of the story that the writer discovers how much Evangeline lked him. She stole from her bank to purchase newspapers from the narrator (373) in order to have an excuse to visit with him every day. Women In Genesis As a collective human element, women in Genesis often appear as obstacles to God's broad overriding goals through noncompletion of their particular roles in the divine scheme. From the Garden of Eden right through to the story of Joseph, women, as wives, mothers, and daughters, are typically unreliable, inadequate, deceitful or, simply by virtue of their womanhood, an outright liability, and they frequently threaten to undermine God's will as it is expressed in the opening book of the Bible. God's first instruction to a human being occurs during the initial telling of the creation story in Genesis. Adam and Eve have the mutual responsibility to be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it(1:28). However, it is really the second narrative, detailing the creation of man and woman that establishes God's structure of the world. In this structure, Eden is created for the first man, Adam, who has one basic function, to work and guard Eden (2:15), and only one prohibition, to abstain from the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge (2:16). Starting right from Genesis, in this additional description of the Eden story, tension already arises between Eve, the first biblical woman, and the divine process. Duped by the serpent, she not only succumbs and eats the forbidden fruit, but also encourages Adam to join her, thereby causing their expulsion. Thus, God is forces to confront human intractability from the very beginning of his quest, and the first instance comes from a woman, t he very creature created to solidify Edenic perfection. God had intended Eden to be a self-contained universe, a paradise for Adam where he would live comfortably without toil or hardship. By disobeying, and then including Adam in her crime, Eve indirectly causes his punishment: a life that requires him to labor for his sustenance. Eve was created to be her husband's helpmate (2:20); instead she turns out to be a catalyst for his demise and the cause of humankind's expulsion from the Utopia. In the creation story, the satisfaction of both God and human are at stake. God aims to realize his will in the world, and the happiness and the content of humanity hinge on God's ability to realize his plan. Eve is created to complete Eden. But, instead of conforming to God's plan, she is a stumbling block to the construction of the divinely conceived universe. The idea that God is striving to create an ideal world recurs in Genesis. And in many instances, as in the case of Eve, it is a woman who impedes the fulfillment of God's vision. However, disobedient actions are not always the mode of obstruction. Sara and Rachel threaten God's plan with their infertility. Although the text does not explicitly blame the matriarchs for their inability to conceive, they are involuntarily liable for not propagating. In every instance, it is the women, rather than their husbands or God, who are passively the physical barriers to conception. God, the narrative explains opens wombs when he so chooses. But closed wombs are never stated to be the result of God's initiative. And, even if conception is perceived as God's intervention, it is significant that infertility in the text is always a result of women's, rather than men's, faulty anatomical equipment, making infertility an inescapable female problem. Propagation is a central these in Genesis. In the Noah story, which is God's attempt to reconstruct the world after the first few generations of humankind have proven incorrigible, God commands Noah to be fruitful and multiply (9:1) immediately after Noah emerges from the ark. In the making of a film there are many more people involved than we think. For example writers, even though the script was already wrote they still had to check and edit parts of it. The director makes sure the film runs smoothly and supervises the film. The people who make the costumes have to do a lot of research to make sure the costumes represent the time, place and character. The editor has a few different shots of the same scene and has to pick the one that fits best with the film then edits it. The prop manager have to make sure all of the props look good in the film and make sure they look realistic. There is also many more people invoked. They chose the actress they did to play Juliet because she looks like someone you could know. Costumes help with the meaning and understanding of the character, it also tells a story about them. The costumes they chose symbolised the characters and showed their attitudes through their clothes, the words said can also been shown through the costumes, because people might struggle with the language. At the beginning there is a television screen with bright luminous green writing, this is to make it stand out more and attract your attention. The use of a television screen at the beginning make it seem more real by showing the news. It starts to say the prologue and by putting it as news make it seem more modern and you believe what is being said is the truth. The screen zooms into show that what is being said on the television is important. At the eng of the prologue there is loud modern day sounds and is moving to the action. The music is loud and dramatic. The camera technique is used to make you think that your in a helicopter and your going over the city. You first get introduced to the Montague boys by having brightly coloured clothes and hair, loud music and they are shouting at the camera. The camera angle is close up to their faces to make you feel more involved. Both of the families have personalised number plates, which shows they like to show off their wealth. Everything the Montague boys are wearing is bright, they are also driving a bright yellow car which shows they are wild and dangerous. They also have loud music which shows they like to draw attention to themselves, and dont care what other people think of them. When they first get to the petrol station, this is where the action at the beginning takes place, the camera angle is jerky this is to keep the story going and to show the fast movement. Luhrmann first introduces the Capulet boys by making them seem dangerous and secretive by only showing their feet. Unlike the Montagues who wear brightly coloured clothes, the Capulets wear black and darker clothes. Their car is also black and is more posh than the Montagues beach car. Tybalt has spurs on his shoes which is emphasised to make him seem in charge and dangerous. Luhrmann places a ladies collage bus between the two cars, this allows the two families not to be able to see each other. The Montague boys shout at the ladies collage, which shows they are care free and dont care about the consequences. The music throughout the scene is things from a western to show there will be fighting and gun firing. Luhrmann uses lots of close ups during the scene, such as to show fear, or make someone look more dangerous when using a gun. The camera also looks up to certain characters to make them seem more scary, but also looks down on characters to make them look more scared. There are many slow motion shots this makes it seem more like a western. Luhrmann also made it so the Montagues and Capulets are never in the same shot together, this is to show the distance between the families. They use many sound effects to emphasize movements, such as the screeching and roaring of cars to make it seem faster. To make the car sound more powerful they put the sound of a pumas roar. Tybalt is very dramatic with his movements. He is always shown like a bull fighter, by him acting elegantly such as when he ripped off his shirt or when he shooting, he uses dance steps.
